The World Series

Legend and I took a walk to a park this evening. There was a little kids' T-ball game going on. After a while of playing on the slide and with a rubber ball, we decided to sit in the grass and watch the game.

We sit down just as a new inning starts.
A parent yells - "You can do it!" And there is a little bit of clapping from the row of dedicated parents.
Legend hears this and leaps to his feet, excited. He runs to the fence and screams - "You do it!"
A few of the moms chuckle.

A little girl manages to punt the ball off the T.
Legend is ecstatic - "Good job! You did it!"
The girl's parents yells - "Way to go, Jamie!"

Another child comes up to bat.
Legend is ready, clutching on to the fence.

The kid hits the T, sending the ball about a foot.
Legend screams and claps vigorously - "Way to go, Jamie! You do it!"

After a while of his exuberant cheering...
Me - "Well Legend, it is getting late. Let's go home."
Legend - "No. I wanna play baseball."

A child after his mother's heart.
