No Sleeping

Legend had an exciting more today including an hour in the play room at the H20 while mom and dad worked out (he had so much fun he didn't want to leave), and then we hit the farmer's market. He tried out the big blow up slide and went in the bounce house; he tried out some tasters at different stands; and he got his groove on to barn animal songs at a kids' booth.

We put him in the car to drive the 5 minutes home, and his eyes start rolling and his head starts bobbing almost immediately. We don't want him to fall asleep before he has lunch and mess up his routine, so we tickle him and talk to him, trying to keep him awake.

Legend's head bobs.
I tickle his belly - "No sleep! No sleep! No sleep!"
Usually this cracks him up, but today he only manages a sleepy smile and closes his eyes despite my tickling.
At a red light, Cody turns, pokes Legend and yells - "Legend! Don't sleep! Wake up!"
Legend barely opens his eyes, smiles, and his head bobs again.
He really can't keep his eyes open, but he just keeps smiling at us when we poke him and yell at him.

If the car ride were even one minute longer, I am certain we would have lost him to dream land, but we make it home. I open the car door and he looks at me lazily, then turns his face away and closes his eyes.

I guess it is nap time.
