Legend gets in line

At the park today, there is a large day care, 14 three year olds and 2 adults. The park is a long walk from my house, with no other parks close by, so we stay even though it is really busy and the tots meet some new friends and have fun.

After about 45 minutes, it is time for the day care group to head back for lunch. The women instruct the children to line up on the grass and sit on their bums. About half of the children ignore the women and have to be instructed 3 or 4 times before they obey; a couple children never end up obeying.

Legend obeys immediately. He runs over, gets in line and sits down on his bum with his hands neatly in his lap, looking expectantly at the day care woman.

The woman looks at Legend, laughs and says, "Good listening, friend."

Cash copies Legend's actions so that he can get some praise too and I have trouble convincing them to come away from the line. They are pretty sure they are going to get a sticker, or a game or song if they just sit and listen for a second. They likely remember when they once got stickers at the Energy plex because they included themselves in a gymnastics class line up.

Mommy/Auntie Kate is going to ruin everything.
